Salsa Criolla: Bright Flavor for the Fire
Salsa Criolla is a fresh, tangy condiment that brings acidity, texture, and a little heat to the table. Made in-house with sweet peppers, heirloom tomatoes, red onion, red wine vinegar, and our spice blend, it has a crisp bite that balances richer, fire-cooked flavors.
It is a traditional condiment with roots in Latin American cooking, where it’s commonly served alongside grilled meats, seafood, and other hearty dishes. The combination of crisp vegetables, acidity, and subtle heat makes it a natural complement to rich, fire-cooked flavors.
At Asado Life, we use Salsa Criolla across the menu. It comes alongside our Seacuterie Board, where its acidity and freshness complement the seafood. On our Sunday Pineapple Chapa Rice, it contrasts the sweetness of the pineapple and the flavors developed on the chapa. It also appears on our Asado Bowl, where its bright acidity cuts through the dish's richness.
While the ingredients are simple, Salsa Criolla serves an important purpose: bringing acidity and freshness to dishes built around smoke, char, and rich flavors from the fire.
